How long does it take Google Ads to start working for a junk removal company?
The first month brings about half the normal lead rate, and most accounts reach their normal level by months two to three. Accounts keep improving into year two, when the typical one gets about 14.6 leads per $1,000 against 4.6 in month one.

Leads per $1,000 by account age
| Account age | Median leads per $1,000 | Middle half |
|---|---|---|
| Month 1 | 4.6 | 1.5-11.6 |
| Months 2-3 | 7.7 | 5.3-15.8 |
| Months 4-6 | 7.5 | 4.2-14.9 |
| Months 7-12 | 9.2 | 4.8-18.0 |
| Month 13 on | 14.6 | 9.3-19.3 |
Against each account's own normal
Measured against each account's own months 4-12, month one runs at 47% of normal, months 2-3 at 96%, months 4-6 at 83% and months 7-12 at 105%.
Do clicks get cheaper as a campaign matures?
Not much. Holding each campaign and calendar month fixed, clicks in the launch month cost about 6% less than in months 2-3, months 4-12 cost about the same, and campaigns running more than a year come in about 12% cheaper. What improves most with time is how many clicks turn into leads.
